The Coutts Prize for Family Business
Coutts & co have announced that it has started searching for Essex’s best family business of 2009/10. This is the fifth year that Coutts has been running the competition. The competition is open to medium and large family run businesses in Essex.
“Up to 75% of businesses in Essex are run by families and across the UK these family businesses account for a large share of UK GDP and employment. Yet much of their work goes largely unrecognised by society and they get very little help with tackling the unique challenges that they face in areas such as business succession.” – Alan Midwinter
Coutts is providing a free company health check for short-listed companies this year, so the benefits are not just for the winning company. This is an excellent move on Coutt’s part to provide assistance to local businesses during these tough economic times.
Nominations are split into two categories, one for medium sized businesses with an annual turnover of £5-25 million and one for large businesses with an annual turnover of over £25 million.
