Mountain biking in Essex
Good news for mountain bikers in Essex, as Essex is to host a series of race events called “Mud, Sweat and Tears”. The events will take place on courses in Danbury, Braintree and Basildon. The events were set up to promote more interest in mountain bike racing following the news that the London 2012 Olympic mountain bike event will be held in Essex.

Please note that although the races are open to members of the public, it is essential to pre-register on the website and confirm your place.
- The Danbury Outdoors Activity Centre – Sunday, 19, July
- Codham Park, Beazley End, Braintree – Sunday, 9, August.
- Langdon Hills in Basildon – Sunday, 20, September.
