Two amazing local bands are set to play a one off charity gig on the 9th October at The Barhouse, Victoria Street, Chelmsford.
Oxjam is a music festival taking place throughout the UK this October to raise money for the charity Oxfam.
Oxjam Event organiser Claire Whatley has arranged the show in conjunction with Club NME.
Oxjam gives you the chance to fight poverty with music. Since 2006, more than 36,000 musicians have played to an audience of over 750,000 people at almost 3,000 Oxjam events, raising in excess of £1 million to fight poverty around the world. This October is set to be the biggest and best Oxjam yet. Hundreds of events are taking place all over the country, including Essex!
Performing on the 9th will be Essex based bands The Rokettes and WIMM. Club NME DJ’s will also be spinning everyone’s favourite indie hits… and if that wasn’t enough, there will also be dj sets from Nat Self, Casper C and That Boy Kana.
On top of all of this there will also be a raffle, with top prize being a Fender Guitar!
There will also be a range of other fundraising activities taking place throughout the night.
The show kicks off at The Bar House, Chelmsford at 8.30pm. Entry is £6 before 10pm. £1 of which goes straight to Oxfam, along with all funds raised from the raffle and other activities, to help them with their work in countries around the world.
