Farmers Market
Farmers Markets are becoming a more popular way for people to purchase locally grown and in season fruits and vegetables, as well as some more exotic items. There are many farmers markets across Essex, and we hope to list all here.
The information is correct at time of going to press. You may want to check with the relevant town council before making your journey (we hope to provide this information soon). The farmers markets are listed alphabetically by town, if you wish to correct any details or add a new regular farmers market event then please contact us here.
Remember that there are many excellent farm shops all over Essex that are open most days of the week.
Brentwood Farmers Market
The Brentwood farmers market is held on the 1st Saturday of each month at the Baytree Shopping Centre. All day.
Chelmsford Local Produce Market
Held on the first Sunday of each month in the town. Next Event Date : Sunday, 1st November 2009

Farmers and Crafts Market, Hylands Park
The farmers market is held at the Stables Visitors centre in Hylands Park. Entrance is free. The next planned dates are:

Colchester Farmers Market
Held at the Arts Centre near Mercury Theatre on the first Friday of each month from 9.30am to 1pm.
Epping Farmers Market
Close to London this farmers market is held on the first Friday of each month on Epping High Street from 9am until lunchtime (about 1pm).

Gants Hill Farmers Market in Ilford
This farmers market is held at the Valentine’s Mansion, Valentine’s Park, Cranbrook Road, on the 4th Sunday of each month from 11am to 3pm.

Great Dunmow Farmers Market
Held at Great Garnetts Farm, Bishops Green 2nd Saturday each month from 9.30am to 12.30pm (Closed Jan, Aug and Dec)
Hyde Hall, Rettendon, Farmers Market
The taste of Essex is on offer at a farmers market at the RHS’ Hyde Hall in Rettendon on Saturday 17th October, from 10am to 2pm.

Ilford Farmers Market
Held on the High Road in Ilford on the first Saturday of each month from 9am to 4.30pm.

Maldon Farmers Market
Held at the Swan Hotel on the High Street (around the back) on the 1st Tuesday of each month from 10am to 1pm (except January).
Old Harlow Farmers Market
This farmers market is held on the High Street in Old Harlow on the 3rd Saturday of each month from 9am to 3pm.

Rayleigh Farmers Market
The farmers market in Rayleigh is part of the traditional Raleigh market that is held at the Market Place opposite the Church on the last Wednesday of the month from 9am to 1pm.
