Essex beat Durham by 7 wickets yesterday, and mostly thanks to Essex’s keeper James Foster who hit an excellent 83 in 38 balls, and Alastair Cook hitting a fine 104, and building an excellent partnership of 117 runs with Graham Napier.
In the 37th over Foster smacked the first five balls from Durham leg-spinner Scott Borthwick for six!
“We’ve batted very well over the last couple of days on some very flat wickets. It’s very nice to show some composure from our batting to be able to chase down seven runs per over without panicking. James Foster played an unbelievable innings and he was probably the difference.” Alastair Cook, Essex Batsman
