To win your free bacon buttie all you need to do is volunteer to help with the Autumn river clean up. Volunteers are asked to meet at the Wharf Road car park, where they can park for free and have a bacon sandwich. Get there just before 9am.

The morning will involve picking up the litter on the banks of the River Can and the River Chelmer.

To help with the river cleaning Orca Scuba Diving Academy who will be diving into the river to retrieve harder to reach objects and litter. As usual we expect a few shopping trolleys and bicycles to be recovered from the river bottom.

Several boating groups will also be aiding the clean up; Chelmsford Sea Cadets, Chelmsford Canoe Club and the Chelmer Canal Trust will all be helping to remove litter from boats.

Chelmsford City Council are organising the event. Volunteers can come for the whole morning or just half an hour, but you are asked to dress sensibly for the task.
