Great news for Essex gymnastics as Reiss Beckford from Basildon’s South Essex Gymnastics Club wins two silver medals in the 2010 Commonwealth Games.
He just lost out to gold when he slipped when dismounting the parallel bars and won silver in the men’s all-round individual. Fellow Brit Luke Folwell took the gold. He also won a silver for the men’s floor.
I never came here expecting to get a silver medal as an individual. But now I’ve got five more to aim for, so hopefully I can do well in those and bring back more medals
Today his is competing in individual vault, parallel bars, and horizontal bar events and hoping to win a third medal.
Beckford trains at Basildon’s South Essex Gymnastics Club on Cranes Farm Road every day, which is just up the road from 5 Elements Martial Arts which is home to some British kickboxing champions.
