CHELMSFORD MENCAP has been established since 1951 we are a leading local Learning Disability charity based in Chelmsford, Essex and are predominantly run by volunteers. We provide support, services and information to our members. Although based in Chelmsford, we are happy to accept memberships from around the county and further!

Work Experience

Chelmsford Mencap are keen to help students in the Chelmsford area with Citizenship Assignment Projects including valuable work experience. An opportunity not to be missed for those looking to further their careers in the Public Sector!

Volunteer Opportunities

If you can spare some time on a regular basis even if its a couple of hours every other week, then Sam would love to hear from you, full induction training will be provided and volunteers will always be working in part of a team. All expenses including mileage paid (at 40p per mile). Our volunteers always receive FREE tickets/admission to our events that they help at! Due to vulnerability of the children and adults CRB (Criminal Record Bureau) checks will be required, which we can arrange free of charge through Royal Mencap on your behalf.
