River Chelmer Is Close To Bursting Its Banks

The River Chelmer is Chelmsford is close to bursting its banks. Water has already overflowed into the flood plains along the Chelmer, including the newly developed area between Bond Street in Chelmsford and the Loch Fyne and Prezzo restaurants.

The flood plain between the A1114 (Essex Yeomanry Way) and the A138 (Chelmer Road) is also flooded. The water is flowing fast along the river and more rain is expected.

During the torrential rain in November homes along the river Wid between Ingatesone nad Writter were at risk of flooding. Paper Mill Lock in Little Baddow is also prone to flooding.
