I have today been looking at ways we can help those in need out in Japan. It seems that the best charity to support if the Red Cross. Although they do not have any specific events in Essex at the moment, they do organise a lot of nationwide fund raising events in addition to running some shops. If you have not already seen the before and after photos of tsunami hit Japanese towns then they will certainly shock you. There is a massive operation ahead.

One of the popular Red Cross initiatives is the Open Gardens, where the public open their garden to others to raise a little money for charity.

“Open Gardens offers a rare opportunity to explore the secrets of hidden and private gardens not usually open to the public. The programme has a spectacular list of gardens of all shapes and sizes throughout the UK.”
