A NEW NHS dental surgery has opened on the second floor of Leigh Primary Care Centre, to make it even easier for people in the area to see an NHS dentist.
The dental practice will be open 365 days a year. The surgery will be open from 09:00hrs – 21:00hrs Monday – Friday and 09:00hrs to 11:00hrs on a Saturday morning for scheduled appointments. Slots for patients in need of urgent care who do not have an appointment will also be available on Saturday/Sunday and Bank Holidays. Should patients require urgent care during the weekend or on a bank holiday, they will need to telephone NHS Direct who pass their details onto the LPCC dental surgery for an urgent appointment, where necessary.

The opening of the new dental practice follows a detailed selection process – conducted by NHS South East Essex – to find an organisation to run a new NHS dental surgery in Leigh. The organisation selected was Esmail Harunani & Co. Group to provide high quality NHS dental services including examination, diagnosis, investigation and treatment and after care where appropriate.
The new dental surgery is the latest addition to Leigh Primary Care Centre, a modern, purpose built state of the art health centre which makes it easier for people to access healthcare services at a time that suits them, and closer to home.
Ian Stidston, Interim Director of Primary and Community Care for NHS South East Essex, said: “We are delighted to be opening the doors to a brand new NHS dental surgery in Leigh-on-Sea. The new dental surgery will increase access to NHS dentistry in the town in a building designed to make sure the NHS is up to the task of providing a modern health service for another 60 years.”
