The Sun Inn in Feering

The Sun Inn is on the main road in Feering on the border with Kelvedon. It is a traditional beamed pub with a central bar and seating areas to either side. There are open fires and old photos and historic items decorate the rooms.

Children and dogs are welcomed into the pub, the staff are very friendly. They serve a good selection of Shepherd Neame beers and also host regular beer festivals. Their food is good, although service can be a little slow at busy times. They do not take bookings for groups of less than 7, so it is a case of first come first served. They make their own desserts, and their apple crumble is one of the best you will ever eat.

Great Sunday Lunches

They do a good Sunday roast, with beef, turkey and pork. The portions are generous and the thick gravy is served in a large jug. There is a separate children’s menu, or they can just order from the main menu at a reduce price. We recently went there for Sunday lunch and the kids thoroughly enjoyed their burgers and black pudding sausages, and found the chocolate ice cream delicious too!

One Comment on “The Sun Inn, Feering”

  1. The Sun Inn is a lovely pub and the food and beer is good, but the service is so slow. By the time all the food arrived at the table some meals were already getting cold. Also, when the desserts came out we were only informed that ours was no longer available after the kids had finished theirs. So we missed out on dessert. Not only that, they managed to get our orders wrong and then charged some wrong items on the bill.

But, it is a lovely pub!
