Colchester’s newest care home, St Fillan’s Care Centre, has been approved by the Care Quality Commission and will welcome its first 6 residents from Monday 16th July. It was formally opened by Colchester mayor Christopher Arnold who said the centre could become one of the best around.
St Fillan’s Care Centre provides a care home environment with some nursing. It will mostly be caring for elderly people with no specific medical illness and also some people with dementia. It can cater for long-term care as well as short stays and respite care.
The home has 71 rooms, all single with en suite, and has private gardens for its residents.
St Fillan’s Care Centre is owned by Excelcare who manage care homes all over the country. They have been managing care homes for over 20 years and have care homes in Essex, Cambridgeshire, Greater London and Milton Keynes.
