Moores in Chelmsford

Moores in ChelmsfordMore sad news for Chelmsford’s shoppers this week as we learned news that Moores Jewellers, who are the oldest established business in Chelmsford, has entered into administration.

Moores Jewellers is in the Meadows Shopping Centre. It was forced to call in the administrators, FRP Advisory, on Friday 1st March. The business is already for sale.

Moores Jewellers was founded by H Chapman in 1835 and then bought by the Moore family in 1996, and is owned by Ken Moore today. Ken runs the business with his 2 sons. It is actually one of the oldest businesses in all of Essex.

Moores is an authorised dealer of many leading brands including Calvin Klein, Seiko, Ted Baker, Rotary, Briel and Sekonda. Moores is also a member of the National Association Of Goldsmiths.

Moores will continue trading at Meadows until a buyer is found. Their website, www.mooresjewellers.co.uk, is still online, we assume that all orders will be delivered, but you may wish to check by calling 01245 266 551 first.

There is an opportunity for a fire sale at Moores – so keep an eye out, some good bargains may be found.
