Argos have announced plans to scale back their high street operations and focus on online sales only. Home Retail, Argos’ parent company, have announced planed to close 75 stores over the next 5 years. Currently Argos have around 740 stores in the UK

Two great British folk musicians are coming to Essex for one night only. Huw Williams and Maartin Allcock are playing at the Blue Boar in Maldon on Sunday 18th November.

Chelmsford railway station is not the only building to get a makeover. The office blocks next to the station will be demolished to make way for a new Amlin HQ. The offices which will be demolished are The Courtyard (the old Job Centre), Caxton House, and St Mary’s House in Victoria Road.

JJB Sports has been sold to high street rival Sports Direct after it was placed into administration yesterday. It is expected that around 2,200 staff will be losing their jobs across the country.

Last Wednesday a rock was thrown at a car in Essex. The rock was thrown at a car travelling towards Colchester along the A120 near to the turn-off to Great Bentley, the B1035.

Fortunately the woman who was struck by the rock escaped unhurt this time, although previous incidents have resulted in serious injuries.
